When someone comes up to you with the same old story that comebacks are always disappointing, remind them about Slowdive. The shoegaze pioneers are one of the best examples of artists whose influence and cult following their split justifies their return. There were dream-pop bands contemporary to Neil Halstead and Rachel Goswell's in the first five years of the 90s, but they were the cornerstone, the ones that reverberated throughout the soundscape. That’s why on their eponymous 2017 album, the history of distortion-laced folk tunes seemed to give them back what they were owed.

Slowdive are still an echo that never ceases, especially after the release of everything is alive, their fifth album, the second since their comeback. Everything is definitely alive around them. The British band will present it on February 5th in Barcelona (Razzmatazz) and February 6th in Madrid (La Riviera) as part of their European tour. A toast to Slowdive: because sometimes second parts are good.
